Woman’s Club Supports Child Abuse PreventionPosted on April 24, 2018
Betty Vamos, a member of The Montgomery Woman’s Club, placed a sign and pinwheels in front of the Montgomery Township Municipal Building to demonstrate Club support and encourage community support for The Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect in all forms for all New Jersey children. (See above photo.) As part of the New Jersey State Federation of Woman’s Clubs, local clubs throughout the State have worked and advocated for this program for the past two years and will continue to do so.
The Montgomery Woman’s Club has crocheted and knitted more than 120 Purple Hats for the Period of Purple Crying Program (see below photo) which provides education on the normal crying curve and the dangers of shaking babies. Hospitals throughout the State participate in this program, Somerset Medical Center being one of them.
