On Monday September 4th, at 7:22 pm, Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Company #2, and Montgomery EMS responded to Princeton Avenue near Blue Spring Road for an overturned motor vehicle. Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Jonathan Pletcher, 48, of Princeton. Pletcher reported he was traveling south on Princeton Avenue when he became distracted by a pedestrian on the roadway. Pletcher’s vehicle struck a curb along the southbound lane of Princeton Avenue and then crossed over the northbound lane and exited the roadway and overturned after striking an embankment and tree. Pletcher and his 12 year old son were able to remove themselves from the vehicle. Pletcher was transported to the University Medical of Princeton at Plainsboro for medical evaluation and his son was uninjured. The vehicle was towed as a result of the collision and Pletcher was issued a motor vehicle summons for Careless Driving. Princeton Avenue was closed for approximately one hour during the scene investigation and clean up.
On Monday September 4th, at 10:00 pm, Montgomery Police were patrolling the Mill Pond Park soccer field complex and made contact with Trevor Black, 20, of Skillman seated in a motor vehicle in a parking area. Montgomery ordinance prohibits anyone from being in a Township park half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise. During contact with Black Police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the inside of his vehicle. Black admitted to possessing marijuana and a search of the vehicle yielded a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (bong/grinder). Black was placed under arrest and transported to Montgomery Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued a municipal ordnance summons for being in the park after hours and complaint summons for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a future court date in Montgomery Municipal Court.
