Police Press Release – 2/22/17

On Wednesday February 15, at 5:49 p.m., Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS responded to Route 206 near Sunset Road for the report of a four car motor vehicle crash with injuries. Muthaiah Elangovan, 58, of Hillsborough was operating a BMW north on Route 206 when he impacted the rear of a Toyota operated by Boris Margolin, 49, of Churchville, PA who had been stopped in traffic. The force of the impact caused Margolin’s vehicle to impact the rear of an Acura operated by Mei Han, 35, of Bedminster, NJ who was stopped in traffic. Han’s vehicle then struck the rear of a Honda operated by Raymond Siwek, 58, of Morristown, NJ. MEMS evaluated all involved parties and all refused further medical treatment at the scene. Elangovan’s vehicle was towed from the scene as a result of the collision. He was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Twp. Municipal Court at a later date.

On Thursday February 16, at 3:29 p.m., Montgomery Police stopped Sara Troyano, 24, of Hamilton, NJ after observing her vehicle traveling on Route 206 without an inspection sticker affixed to the windshield. During the stop the front seat passenger in the vehicle, Kevin Porter, 33, of Bordentown, NJ was observed not wearing his seatbelt. Porter was found to have an outstanding no bail warrant from Trenton City. Porter was placed under arrest and transported to Montgomery PD for processing. Porter was issued a motor vehicle summons for not wearing a seatbelt and turned over to Officers from Trenton PD. Troyano was released at the scene with a verbal warning.

On Tuesday February 21, at 9:32 p.m., Montgomery Police responded to the Wawa food store on Route 206 for the report of two people asleep in a parked vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival police made contact with Erin Cranmer, 21, of Brooklawn, NJ and Robert Smith, 37, of Voorhees, NJ. It was determined that the couple were not sleeping, but instead had been looking at their cell phones while seated in the vehicle. Smith was found to have an active $500 warrant for his arrest from Southampton Township and was placed under arrest. Cranmer was released. Smith was transported to Montgomery PD and processed. Smith was unable to post bail and Southampton ROR’d him pending a new court date.
