May in Montgomery: Potluck Picnic May 12Posted on April 8, 2018
A TRIBUTE TO JUDY PETERS
May 12, Noon to 3 PM
Montgomery Veterans Memorial Park
Pavillion, Lower Parking Lot
Harlingen Rd., Belle Mead, NJ 08502
A “May in Montgomery” without Judy Peters is out of the question, so trustees of Van Harlingen Historical Society are making a tribute to Judy our “May in Montgomery” event for 2018.
It’s to be a picnic. Judy would like that. A truly pot luck picnic. Nobody pays; just all bring and we all eat. So the menu is sure to include surprises. That adds to the fun. Judy loved having fun.
All her friends and admirers are invited. Not just invited, urged to come. Saturday, May 12, Noon to 3 PM. Montgomery Veterans Memorial Park, Harlingen Rd., rain or shine (we’ve reserved the Pavillion). Bring lawn chairs, bring your favorite picnic fare. Bring memories to share.
Van Harlingen will supply paper plates and napkins and trash bags, also a tub of ice to keep drinks cold. (No alcohol: park rules) You all will bring the rest, including the kids. Judy loved kids, and there’s lots of room for them to run around while grown-ups are talking.
Talk will include an update on the sugar maple tree Van Harlingen is planting as a memorial to Judy Peters at the Gulick House. Donations to help pay for her tree are welcome. For more information, contact Anne at 908-359-2642.
