Mail-in Ballots Available for June Primary

Posted on May 7, 2018

Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter wants residents to be aware that voters can apply for a mail-in ballot for primary elections, which will be held Tuesday, June 5.

Applications for mail-in ballots are available online at: http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/CountyClerkElectionDiv, or at the County Clerk’s Office, located in the lobby of the county Administration Building at 20 Grove St.

Residents can request that a ballot be mailed to them up until Tuesday, May 29 (seven days prior to the election).  This will allow time for the ballot to be mailed back to the applicant.

Voters, or authorized messengers for voters who are sick or confined, may visit the County Clerk’s Office during office hours up until 3 p.m. on Monday, June 4, to fill out an application and receive a mail-in ballot.  A state statute limits messengers to three voters per election.

Completed mail-in ballots can be mailed to the Somerset County Election Board, P.O. Box 3000, Somerville NJ 08876.  Ballots also can be dropped off at the Board of Elections, located next to the County Clerk’s Office in the county Administration Building.  Mail-In ballots can be returned until the polls close at 8 p.m. on election night.
