Emergency Power-lift Stretchers supported by Investors Foundation GrantPosted on January 26, 2018
Montgomery EMS grant from Investors Foundation to assist with purchase of new powered patient transport stretcher
Montgomery Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) recently received a $7,500.00 grant from Investors Foundation. The grant will help further MEMS’s mission – to provide emergency medical and ambulance services and to promote safety within the Township of Montgomery – by completing the conversion of its fleet to include a powered-lift stretcher on every ambulance.
“Manually extended stretchers, which remain standard equipment for many EMS services throughout our area, present significant risk of back injury to our volunteers as well as potential discomfort and stress for patients,” said Scott DellaPeruta, President of Montgomery EMS. “Having completed this purchase of a Stryker Power-Pro XT, Montgomery EMS is proud and fortunate to be able carry a modern, powered stretcher on every call, improving the safety of our members and of the community.
“Montgomery EMS is grateful to Investors Foundation for helping to make this possible, and for its continued support of our work as Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Montgomery and surrounding communitie,” DellaPeruta concluded.

About Montgomery EMS
Montgomery Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) is an all-volunteer member organization which provides 9-1-1 emergency basic life support ambulance service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year within the township of Montgomery, NJ, and does so at absolutely no charge. (However, if the patient requires advanced life support (ALS) for complaints such as cardiac symptoms, difficulty breathing, or unconsciousness, the ALS provider – a separate organization who does not share revenue with MEMS – may send a bill for their services.) In addition to emergency response, MEMS will provide non-emergency ambulance transport service for Township residents. MEMS also provides standby services at fire scenes and community events, and serves as back-up (known as mutual aid) to neighboring communities.
