Local Public Contracts Law The LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACTS LAW for the State of New Jersey delineates the various procedures for buying goods and services. The Township of Montgomery adheres to those rules and accordingly will solicit prices for goods and services though the following methods: The Purchasing Agent is obligated to co-ordinate vendor and Departmental requirements in such a manner as to assure fairness to the vendor and to the satisfaction of the Using Department’s needs at the greatest possible benefit to the Township. In short, the Purchasing Agent is required to buy the right quality, the right quantity at the right price at the right time from the right source in the right manner. At his discretion, the Purchasing Agent may substitute appropriate articles for those requested and may postpone a request when it is in the best interest of the Township.The Township maintains bidders lists by specialized goods and services. If a Vendor wishes to be placed on a specific bidders list, it may do so by sending the appropriate information to purchasing@twp.montgomery.nj.us. Bidders lists are kept confidential. The Purchasing Department does not sell lists nor does it employ third party list managers.
Current Bids The New Jersey LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACTS LAW (N.J.S.A. 40A:11:-1 et seq.) requires that all goods and services not available through another governmental agency and whose total aggregate value is over $36,000.00 be made available for public bid.
